Welcome to the Village of Woodbury The Village of Woodbury is located in the Town of Woodbury in southeastern Orange County, New York,
approximately 45 miles northwest of New York City and 100 miles south of Albany. Incorporated in 2006, the
Village is part of the greater New York metropolitan area and considered the Gateway to Orange County. The
Village encompasses a mix of small-town, suburban and rural settings, and is home to two hamlets, Highland Mills
and Central Valley. The Village of Woodbury is governed by an elected Village Board consisting of the Mayor and four Trustees. All Board members serve for two-year terms.
The Village of Woodbury was incorporated on August 28, 2006. The Village of Woodbury encompasses all of the land formerly
comprising the Town of Woodbury except for that portion of the Village of Harriman located in the
Town of Woodbury. The Village took over all zoning and planning functions from the Town of Woodbury on
June 1, 2007. Town laws adopted prior to the incorporation of the new Village remain in effect for a period of two years or until the Village Board enacts its own legislation. As of August 2008, the Village has adopted with minor modifications the Town's Zoning Code.
